I've been driving my 2017 Grand Cherokee for about three years now and up until recently it's been absolutely solid, but I've started noticing a knocking sound from the rear whenever I go over speed bumps or uneven roads, and the car feels a bit wallowy on corners which I'm pretty sure isn't normal. I've had a quick look underneath and I can't see anything obvious like a broken spring, but I'm no mechanic so I could be missing something completely. I've been putting it off for a few weeks but I'm starting to worry that it might be something serious like worn shock absorbers or maybe a failing control arm, and I really don't want to leave it until something breaks completely. I'm based in Dubai and I've been searching online for a workshop that specializes in suspension work, and I came across suspensionrepairdubai.ae which seems to cover the kind of work I need, but I'd rather get some real-world feedback from people who've actually used them before I commit to spending money. The thing that worries me most is that I've heard some shops will quote you for replacing parts that don't actually need replacing just to bump up the bill, especially if they think you don't know much about cars. I'm not looking for the cheapest option – I just want someone honest who can properly diagnose the issue and give me a fair price for the work that actually needs doing. Has anyone in Dubai had suspension work done on their Grand Cherokee or similar Jeep and can recommend a trustworthy workshop? Also, roughly what kind of cost am I looking at for rear shock replacement on one of these? Any advice would be massively appreciated because I'm kind of stressing about this. Cheers.
