Aims

The purpose of this module is to learn how to work with Gimp .xcf file, to manipulate image color, to work with layers and to export images for the WEB.

Expected outcomes

Upon completion of this module, you should know / should be able to:

Submodule 11.1: Gimp file- Selection tools

• • recognize what Gimp file is.
  • use selection tools (Rectangle, Ellipse, Free select tool)
  • use the Paths tool
  • create transparent images

Submodule 11.2: The Color in Gimp

• • recognize and use the HSV color model
  • recognize and use the Levels and Hue Saturation color tools
  • pick a color by using the Color picker tool
  • select a color by using the Select by color and Fuzzy select tool

Submodule 11.3: Layers and export of image

• • work with layers
  • apply several available tools on layers
  • export images for WEB- jpg, .png and.gif formats
